Review

This book is such a great book, cause it shows what kids who are different feel like! And how we should make an effort to talk and socialize with them!

The book is about a girl with cerebral palsy, so she has never spoken a single word in all her life…But she is sooooooo smart!!!! And it’s about her learning to accept herself even if no one around her will.

The book is super clean, except for some horribly rude bullies who twitch and jerk as a way to make fun of her! (Never EVER laugh at someone, disabled or not!!!! That is a horrible thing to do and God does not smile down on us when we do it!!!!) And there is some violence, some one gets hit by a car. But nothing is described and there is no blood.

Over all, a MUST READ!!!!! This book is sooooooo beautiful and I just can’t get enough of it!!!!!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A very beautiful book about being you and accepting yourself.
  • Very good for kids and teens!

Cons

  • Really rude bullies making fun of disabled kids…

Eleven-year-old Melody is not like most people. She can’t walk. She can’t talk. She can’t write. All because she has cerebral palsy. But she also has a photographic memory; she can remember every detail of everything she has ever experienced. She’s the smartest kid in her whole school, but NO ONE knows it. Most people—her teachers, her doctors, her classmates—dismiss her as mentally challenged because she can’t tell them otherwise. But Melody refuses to be defined by her disability. And she’s determined to let everyone know it…somehow.
