Review

Brace yourselves for a suspenseful, slightly stressful, mystery set in the 1940’s! With murder, chaos and insane asylum’s, this is a novel that will keep you on the edge of your seat till the very last chapter!!!

This book is about Vivian McCombs, a women accused by her husband of burning their house down. But she knows the truth… Even when she is locked up in an insane asylum, Vivian knows someone else is the one who ruined her life. Once set free of the prison, she meets Eva Beckett, a German immigrant trying to escape the war. Together, these 2 young women are facing stalkers, murderers and more, all while trying to find love again in Savannah Georgia.

This book was amazing! It is written so well, the plot line is very clean and the action is filled with suspense. Lots of smiles mixed in with the thrilling chapters and very sweet romances as well! I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am just loving this series!!! I would say this Christian-friendly suspense novel is perfect for ladies 16 and up!

Now, there is violence in the book. Mention of blood and people getting hurt, stabbed or shot. Mention of kidnapping and insane asylums as well. Lots of mentions of stalkers too. I think the most violent parts for me were the asylum chapters. Lots of despair and sadness there. There is one chapter were a man eats a piece of cloth covered in throw up and dies choking on it because he isn’t all mentally there… It is a very sad chapter and really shows the horrors of asylums… Mentally prepare yourselves.

Overall, this book is a thriller and a wonderful read! Yes it has some hard parts, but it also has some sweet moments that just make you smile! It is realistic and sometimes scary and totally worth it! I most definitely suggest Jenny Elaine’s mysteries!!!!  -The Young Llama Reader
