Review

This book is such a sweet read! Unfortunately this is book 2 in the series, I read this one first because of course I did! (Just deal with it, I will be getting books 1 and 3 later on but this was the one I had!)

This novel is about 3 sisters returning to their beloved getaway Pruet! Marigold, Zinne and Lily’s great aunt is getting married! Which of course means a lot of stuff needs to get done. Cake, decorations and more!!! However, the sisters also have their own plans. Marigold, the rising actress set to star in a new movie is excited to see Peter again; but turns out he might have moved on. Zinnie is writing her story for a special contest but can’t seem to find inspiration; and then the boy she meets of course like Marigold instead. And Lily is just content to settle in and love nature, but her older sisters just seem to be fighting lately. The Silver Sisters need to fix their mistakes before the big day before it’s too late!

This book was super sweet, totally adorable and such a fabulous read! It has a great focus on sister-ship, forgiveness and loving each other no matter what! The book is very humorous and filled with such laughter that any girl 8 and up would love this book!

Now there really isn’t any ‘cons’ that I can think of. The sisters do fight in the book. Some yelling, wrestling and such. Hurtful things happens to Marigold and Zinnie in the book, but in all honestly I feel kids should read about this kind-of thing! Words can hurt, girls do fight and that is just life. A young girl needs to know that and learn to forgive and love through it! And I believe this book did a fantastic job explaining that.

Overall, what a fabulous read! A bit like the Penderwicks but a totally new story of it’s own! I very much suggest this book to young girls, and I can’t wait to read books 1 and 3!!!! Have a Blessed Day! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A very sweet read about being the best sister you can be!
  • Very clean and perfect for girls 8 and up!

Cons

  • Some mention of sisters acting horrible towards each other.

Version 1.0.0

Wedding bells are ringing on the Cape! It’s summer again and Marigold, Zinnia, and Lily are heading back to Pruet to help bride-to-be Aunt Sunny plan her big day. But cake and decorations aren’t the only items on the girls’ agenda this summer. Marigold can’t wait to escape the embarrassment of being cut from one of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters—especially after she bragged to all of her friends that she was in it. And Zinnie is trying her hardest to write a story good enough to get into an elite writing program. Zinnie also meets her first boy-who-is-a-friend, a cute kid named Max.

But when it becomes clear that Max has eyes for Marigold, Zinnie can’t contain her hurt, and it leads her to betray Marigold with an unthinkable sister crime. With a wedding on the horizon, and tension simmering between them, will the Silver sisters be able to overcome their hurt in time for the ceremony? After all, beneath the pain of their fight, all Marigold and Zinnie want to do is give Sunny what she’s always given them: a summer to remember forever.
