Review
I love this book! It’s wonderful and interesting, full of mystery and adventure! This is a great novel. If you love a historical story full of action, suspense and a bit of sorrow, this is a great option for you.
This book is about Silas Bird, a young boy living with his father in the middle of nowhere. So imagine his surprise when 3 men come for his father in the night and take him away. With limited options, Silas decides to go after him. With the help of his friend, (who might just be a ghost) and a pony, (who might just not be his) he sets off on an adventure that he didn’t want but might’ve needed.
This book was amazing! I read it 3 hours and enjoyed every page!!!!!!! It is an amazing story that keeps you reading and reading till the end and wanting more. This is a book that I totally suggest to young boys who love an adventure full of ghosts and wild west stories!
Now there is some dark topics in this book. Mention of death, blood and ghosts. There are some sad parts in the book, I cried twice. Some of the ghosts also carry their deaths with them, so they are covered in blood. (One women had part of her head gone) But it isn’t too detailed and only mentioned here and there.
Now there is a LGBT reference in the book unfortunately. It is only one paragraph on page 258. However, it’s still in the book which is sad. I don’t despise any LGBT people, but I am a Christian and God is very clear in His Word about it; so I don’t support it and I don’t think the content should be in kids books. So be warned.
Overall, this is a wonderful novel and one I totally suggest! It is a stellar book and one I think boys 10 and up would adore!!!!!!!!!!! Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.
