Review

This book was kind-of interesting…and kind-of hard to read at the some time… It was good, but sometimes while I was reading I didn’t really get what was going on… But it was still a good book!!!!! (At least the story and plot line was good!)

The book is about 2 separate nations. The one rules over the other and thinks they are better then the slaves. And this girl who is tied in with the higher nation, finds out she is actually a Bamarre. (The lesser people.) And it’s her adventure of figuring out where she belongs.

It was a pretty good book but it can be hard to read. There is some violence in it as well; ogres and monsters harming people, swords, spears, and arrows going…into people. Some battle wounds are explained but most aren’t. And the monsters do attack some people, and hurt and kill them. But it isn’t too descriptive. (Just mild descriptive.)

And there is magic as well. Just your normal, fairies, magic boots, magic tablecloth, and magic ogres… That’s all… Nothing creepy or dark, (besides the ogres who make illusions and try to kill people… Other than that, your good).

Over all, I think this is a pretty good book and kids could read it. But there is some violence and it can be hard to read for some people. So, you may want to ask you parents first if you can read it just in case. I hope you all have a good day! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Adventure, magic, romance and war!
  • A interesting story for girls.

Cons

  • A little bit hard to read
  • Some violence…

Peregrine strives to live up to the ideal of her people, the Latki—and to impress her parents: affectionate Lord Tove, who despises only the Bamarre, and stern Lady Klausine. Perry runs the fastest, speaks her mind, and doesn’t give much thought to the castle’s Bamarre servants, whom she knows to be weak and cowardly.

But just as she’s about to join her father on the front lines, she is visited by the fairy Halina, who reveals that Perry isn’t Latki-born. She is Bamarre. The fairy issues a daunting challenge: against the Lakti power, Perry must free her people from tyranny.
