Review

This book is perfect for fans of suspense, romance and adventure all set in historic London with a serial killer on the loose…

This book is about Lydia Pelton, a young women who writes in secret about the injustice of the corruption-infested Queen City. But when some twisted killer starts making her fiction reality, Lydia is forced to expose herself as the author and team up with Officer Abraham Hall. Only… Abraham thinks it’s her fault for writing such violent novels. Now Lydia is stuck between with her love of writing and the consequences of her words…

This historical mystery was a wonderful read. Filled with humor, suspense, action and secrets! I really enjoyed the novel and loved the plot line! Honestly it is a great read for young ladies 14 and up. I will say, the Officer in the book was kind-of a jerk for half of the story. I didn’t enjoy that as much. Also there is violence and dark topics as well. Mention of blood, cuts, bullets and such. Mention of dead bodies, serial killers and more. It isn’t graphic, but some dark topics are mentioned.

Overall, this is a great novel and one I totally suggest!!! Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A engaging adventure!
  • Great for young ladies 14 and up!

Cons

  • Dark topics…

What happens when fiction becomes reality? In the corruption-infested Queen City, danger lurks in every shadow, but Lydia Pelton refuses to stay silent. She writes under a pseudonym, E. A. Dupin, crafting crime novels to exact justice and right the wrongs she sees in society. When a serial killer decides to be the sword to her pen, Lydia is confronted with the consequences of her words. Four men are dead, and the city blames her.

With murders on the rise, Officer Abraham Hall’s only lead is Lydia’s fiction, and he is thrust into an investigation with the “Killer Queen of Romance.” Despite his misgivings about the woman, he realizes that even with his reputation for catching elusive criminals, he needs her help. But his unexpected attraction to Lydia proves as difficult to manage as the woman herself.

As the mystery unfolds, Abraham and Lydia race to rewrite the ending, not only for Cincinnati’s citizens, but for their own hearts too.
