Review

The DreamKeeper Saga is quickly becoming one of my all time favorite series!!!! Filled with adventure, spiritual warfare, action, friendship and a wonderful focus on trusting God; this is the perfect series for kids!

This book is about Lily, a young girl gifted with the art of imagination and tasked with restoring the Dream Realm. But not in the way she wishes… So when she does it her way instead of following her prince, she ends up in trouble… Fallen down into the depths of Realm, Lily fights monsters, living nightmares and her worst fears while trying to protect those she loves.

This book is just stunning!!! Filled with a fun, interesting adventure set deep in the caves of the Dream Realm. It has a great focus on friendship, hope and trusting God. And honestly this series is just amazing!!!!!!!!! I have been thoroughly enjoying each novel and can not wait to read book 5!!!!!! Boys and girls 8 and up would love these books. (Girls more than boys though, simply because the main character is a girl.)

Now there is a lot of violence in the book. Mention of fighting, killing monsters, getting hurt and such. Not a lot of blood, mostly just killing monsters. There is spiritual warfare in the book. Mention of fighting living nightmares that prey on your deepest fears. It’s a very good vs. evil kind-of series. Still clean, but has some darker parts here and there.

Overall, this series is very good! I have loved each and every book, and I think kids would just adore them as well!!!!! If you are looking for a fun, Christian-friendly adventure for kids, this is the series for you! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A wonderful adventure!!!
  • Christian-friendly series!!!!!
  • Fantastic for kids 8 and up!

Cons

  • Violence…
  • Mention of monsters and spiritual warfare…

Twelve-year-old dream keeper Lily McKinley is grieving the death of Prince Pax when, in an instant, he appears by his tomb with a message for her:

“Whomever you meet, tell them about what you have seen and heard in this valley. Tell them about what I gave for them, and won for them.”

Though she feels her powers weakening, she must embark on a dangerous journey through the Desert of the Forgotten to regain her ability to dream and spread Pax’s message.

This exciting novel, the third book of the Dream Keeper Saga by Kathryn Butler, mixes fantasy with Christian themes, taking middle-grade readers on an adventure steeped in magic, mystery, and glimmers of hope.
