Review

As someone who works in a library, I just had to read this book! I mean look at it!!!! A librarian who falls in love with the bad boy of town while also overcoming her past so she can become the heroine she always wanted to be?!?! Too cute.

This book is about Evangeline Kelly, a librarian who loves love! But after her fiance dumped her due to her hair loss; she doesn’t think it’s meant for her anymore. So instead she will match-make the library’s patrons so they can find their Happily Ever Afters! The only problem is Evangeline doesn’t know everyone in her small town yet. Cue Tai Davis, the tattoo artist bad boy of town, who sees past her hurts and wants to find the real Evangeline. With bargains sent up, dates being made and matches getting set up, maybe the librarian can find love again. If she is willing to listen to the truth and not judge a book by it’s cover…

I just love this book! Maybe because it’s a book about books, or maybe I’m just a hopeful romantic! (Hopeful not hopeless!!!) The romance was adorable and I just loved how the book was not a Hallmark movie. They have issues, they learn to move on from said issues, they find life doesn’t have to be about those issues!!!! I appreciative it. And I really loved the focus on God in the book. There was hope written across every page and it was too cute to read!

Now this isn’t a kids book. 16-18 and up people! Look kissing happens… A lot. Nothing inappropriate, but the characters really like making out throughout the novel. Evangeline in the book has Alopecia, which is a medical condition where who lose all of your hair. It can be sad to read about at times, while also being inspiring. Also Tai is a tattoo artist, so there is mention of people getting tattoos. The romance in the book tends to focus on her liking his tattoos. Only one chapter actually has someone getting a tattoo though and it isn’t too detailed thankful because NEEDLES PEOPLE!?!?! (I don’t do needles ok… Big no no!)

Overall, I just adored this book! It was amazing, I totally suggest it and can’t wait to read the rest of the series!!! Have a book-filled day! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Super cute and great for ladies 18 and up!!!
  • Christian-friendly!

Cons

  • Not a kids book.
  • Lots of mention of tattoos and such.

Can a librarian’s matchmaking mischief lead to a love that rewrites their stories?

If the covers of every romance book ever published didn’t convince librarian Evangeline Kelly that she isn’t heroine material, her fiancé calling off their wedding when she lost her hair to alopecia did. But what’s a girl head over heels for love to do when her feelings are unrequited? Matchmake, that’s what. Armed with library patrons’ check-out histories, she’s determined to make at least one love connection–even if it’s not her own.

Tattoo artist Tai Davis is used to people judging him with a single glance, so it doesn’t surprise him when the town’s quirky new librarian believes his bad-boy reputation without giving him a chance. He can’t help being intrigued by her, though, so when he discovers Evangeline’s secret matchmaking scheme, he’s not above striking a bargain with her. She just has to agree to one date with him for every time she uses his hometown knowledge to set up library patrons on a romantic rendezvous. The deal is made, but in the process, they both might learn you can’t judge a book–or each other–by the cover.
