Review

I just adore this novel!!!!!!!!!!! I just found it, bought it and read both books in hours! They were amazing, fabulous, a bit dark at times but so very good! I couldn’t put it down!!!!!

This book is about Peter Pan, but not the one you’ve heard about. This Peter is stuck in London looking for a way back to his Never Never Land, while hiding from his Lost Boys and trying to escape from his past. But the novel is also about Claire Kenton, a girl who is sick of fairy tales telling her everything will be ok when her brother is still missing and her cursed disease won’t heal. So when she hears that her brother is in Neverland, she must trust the very thing she despises… The Dust that leaks from her skin might be the only way to find her home.

This book was jaw dropping amazing!!! I started reading it last night, could not stop! It was magical. The adventure was beautifully detailed, the action was intense and interesting and the characters? Perfection. I was blown away by the world building and the plot line! The story was truly incredible and the cliff hanger was fantastic! This would be a stellar read for teens 14 and up who love a fabulous adventure filled with magic!!!!!!!

Now, there is violence in this series. It had some dark parts and mentions of blood and death. Young adult novels and teen books can be a bit darker at times. Not too gory but a bit gross. There is mention of blood, crimson streaks, death, screams and such. Mention of people getting stabbed, shot, hurt, bruised and burned. Mention of fighting and death as well. There is also self destructive behavior mentioned in the story. The girl in the book gets to a point in her life that is so low, she throws herself at a window to see if she can fly, but instead she falls… This actually happens before the book, but it is brought up a few times throughout the novel. It’s sad but not too described.

Overall, this book is amazing, slightly heartbreaking and totally romantic! It’s a story about growing up and how it can hurt, but how it also helps you shine through the shadows! It is one of my new favorite reads and a novel I totally suggest! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Such an amazing story!
  • Engaging, interesting and so, so good!!!
  • A great read for teens 14 and up!

Cons

  • Violence and death…
  • Some dark topics…
The truth about Neverland is far more dangerous than a fairy tale.

Claire Kenton believes the world is too dark for magic to be real—since her twin brother was stolen away as a child. Now Claire’s desperate search points to London… and a boy who shouldn’t exist.

Peter Pan is having a beastly time getting back to Neverland. Grounded in London and hunted by his own Lost Boys, Peter searches for the last hope of restoring his crumbling island: a lass with magic in her veins.

The girl who fears her own destiny is on a collision course with the boy who never wanted to grow up. The truth behind this fairy tale is about to unravel everything Claire thought she knew about Peter Pan—and herself.
