Review

I love this book!!!!! It is sooo sweet, soooo cute and soooo perfect for Valentines Day! (And yes, I am aware it is no longer the holiday. But technically, all of February is Valentines!)

This book is about a young women trying to keep her failing restaurant open, and a hockey player trying to fix his reputation. When they start fake dating to help both of their issues, things don’t go as planned. And when their fake romance starts turning into something more real, neither one is sure where this phony valentine is going to lead, but it sure is fun to find out!

This book was fabulous! I am currently already obsessed with Courtney Walsh’s books, but now I’m really obsessed and need more!!!!!!!! This novel is just soooo sweet. The romance is super cute and very clean, with only some mention of kissing and such. And the friendship that grows in the book is one of the best written relationships I have read in quite awhile. Also there is mention of ASL in the book! (And if you didn’t know, I am very fascinated with ASL. And as someone learning it, I love finding mentions of ASL and deaf people in books!)

Now there is mention of adult topics, but only here and there. Mention sleeping over, but nothing happens, it literally is just sleeping. Also mention of the media and news being rude and saying horrible things. Basically, the adult topics are just 16 and up topics that kids shouldn’t read. There isn’t anything inappropriate and I think young ladies 16 and up would love this book!

Overall, this is such a good read! And it should of been Book of the Month for February! Too late now, guess it will be March’s BOTM. I hope you all are having a beautiful day and go read this book immediately! -The Young Llama Reader,

Pros

  • Such a sweet romance!!!!
  • One of my new favorite reads!
  • A perfect novel for Valentine’s Day!!!!!!

Cons

  • Mention of adult topics…
A chance meeting. A hunky hockey player. A fake romance.
Hardly an ordinary day in the life of Poppy Hart.

My days usually consist of agonizing over my failing restaurant, worrying about my mountain of debt and nursing my broken heart.

Everything changes when I bump into a man in the coffee shop and claim him as my new boyfriend. To my absolute horror, he turns out to be hockey’s most renowned bad boy, Dallas Burke. To my absolute delight, he goes along with my story.

When his no-nonsense manager and meddling grandmother jump in the picture, they see a win-win solution for my failing restaurant and Dallas’s less-than-stellar reputation.

A full-fledged fake romance complete with contract negotiations, pretend dates and phony PDA.

But as I get to know the real Dallas Burke, who is not the man the press says he is, it becomes clear that if this isn’t real. . . someone better tell it to my heart.
