Review

This book was sent to me by Baker Book House and it was quite good! I did not except the ending, the bad guy was a complete surprise, and overall this book feels just like a murder-mystery movie!

This book is about Dani, a women who loves pottery and her dog but feels a bit trapped by her over-protective uncle. But when Mark Lassiter, a K-9 officer, reaches out to her informing her that she might be the missing child of a couple who was murdered 25 years ago, the pieces start connecting. But with danger around every turn, and someone out to kill her, Dani needs to relay on Mark to see her through, and do her best not to fall in love in the process…

This book was quite good. It had a great story, interesting mystery and I loved the romance. My only complaint is that there was 2 romances in the book. The first book in this series is about another couple, and their romance continues in book 2. My issues with that is I only like the one romance, I could care less about Alexis and Nathan, I want to read about Dani and Mark. But that is a personal ‘con’ for me, that doesn’t mean you won’t like the book.

There is also some violence in the book. Mention of blood, murders, gunshot wounds, bodies being found and so on. Some people die and there are a few fights. So this book is probably for girls 16 and up, just because it has some violence and is a bit action-packed.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book! It was clean, very fun to read and had such a good story. If you are a suspense book reader, this might just be the next book for you! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A very good novel for mystery lovers!
  • Suspenseful, interesting and action-filled!!!
  • A fantastic romantic-read!

Cons

  • Mention of violence and death…

As a child, artist and potter Dani Bennett witnessed the brutal murder of her parents. With no memory of the incident or her true identity, she was forced to take on a new name and a new life, hidden away in Montana for the past 25 years.

Mae Richmond has spent the same stretch of time searching for her granddaughter, who went missing the night her daughter and son-in-law were murdered. Convinced the woman she saw in a pottery magazine feature is the woman she’s been searching for, she enlists the help of K-9 officer Mark Lassiter of Pearl Springs, Tennessee, who tracks Dani down.

Skeptical but curious, Dani sets out on a journey to uncover the secrets of her past and reclaim her true identity. But someone close to her is determined to keep the truth of what happened all those years ago hidden.
