Review

Oh wow! I have been looking for a new series to read FOREVER! And I never even knew these books existed! And now I need the whole series. (I have already read books 1 and 2. I NEED 3!!!)

This book is about a 14 year old boy named Alex Rider. He was never a normal kid, but when he’s uncle dies mysteriously he begins to suspect something… His uncle was a spy. And now the same organization that got his uncle killed wants his help. With danger around every corner, a weird plan to destroy the world and a giant jellyfish… will Alex Rider be up for the challenge?…

LOVE!!!!! Ok, here’s the deal with me. I am not your normal 17 year old girl. (I’m no spy) But I LOVE boy books!!!!!! You guys get all the cool books!!!! Spies, Star Wars and superheroes!!!! So I am always on the look for more reading material for guys. And I found some!!!!! This series looks sooooooooooooooooo cool! I have only read books 1 and 2 but they look pretty clean!

However, there is a lot of violence… People blow up, get shot, punched, kicked and killed…. Plus there’s this giant jellyfish in book 1. And let’s just say it doesn’t end well…. There was one curse word so far, and in the mini short included in Stormbreaker, there was 1 mention of people maybe being gay. It was a joke and never described. So… YAY!!!! I get to read a new clean series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (But this series is for older boys! 14 and up)

Over all, this book is one I suggest hands down!!!!!!! And I can not wait to read the rest of the series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope you all have a wonderful day! And now I need to go find book 3! -The Young Llama Reader.

UPDATE: I have read books 1 through 3 so far, and I still really like the series. However there is s LOT of violence, people blow up, get shot, “disappear”, and there is a guy in book 3 who was kind-of “stitched” back together… So, yeah not a kids book. I am still loving the books though!!!! But some of them are a bit dark…

Pros

  • An AMAZING SPY BOOK!!!!
  • PERFECT for boys!

Cons

  • There is a LOT of violence…

They said his uncle Ian died in a car accident. But Alex Rider knows that’s a lie, and the bullet holes in the windshield prove it. Yet he never suspected the truth: his uncle was really a spy for Britain’s top secret intelligence agency. And now Alex has been recruited to find his uncle’s killers . . .

Alex Rider’s is debut mission is packed with bonus material – including an extra Alex Rider short story, a letter from Anthony Horowitz, and much more!
