Review
Ok, I LOVE this book!!!!!! I was a little worried at first cause it said Jinxed and there was a black cat on it and I was like… “Uhhhhh…” But then I read it and I was like “LOVE!!!!!”!!!!!!!
The book is about these robots called ‘baku’ which are like smartphone pets, and is about a girl who finds a cat one and fixes it up. But then she finds out that he isn’t a normal baku, and suddenly her life gets a little more interesting.
I seriously love this book and suggest it like NOW!!! There is only a little violence but it’s mostly robots getting damaged. The book is VERY kid-friendly and I totally suggest it to kids and teens; like if your looking for a book packed with action, adventure, awesome robots, and SUPER cool everything else this is the book for you!
Over all, a must read. (And I don’t say that often) This is definitely a good book for kids and teens, and it is a VERY well written. And one that I want to read over, and over again! (I can’t wait to read the 2nd one!!!!!!!!) -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A VERY good book!!!
- Clean and kid-friendly!
- A MUST READ!!!!
Cons
- Some violence and some robots die.
Lacey Chu has always dreamed of working as an engineer for MONCHA, the biggest tech firm in the world and the company behind the “baku”―a customizable “pet” with all the capabilities of a smartphone. But when Lacey is rejected by the elite academy that promises that future, she’s crushed.
One night, Lacey comes across the broken form of a highly advanced baku. After she repairs it, the cat-shaped baku she calls Jinx opens its eyes and somehow gets her into her dream school. But Jinx is different than any other baku she’s ever seen…He seems real.
As Lacey settles into life at school, competing with the best students in a battle of the bakus that tests her abilities, she learns that Jinx is part of a dangerous secret. Can Lacey hold on to Jinx and her dreams for the future?
