Review

Now I have had quite a few people suggest these books to me, but I could just not get myself to read it. I don’t know why, but it just sounded boring… But it was ok. Alright… it was better than ok.

If you know me, than you will probably know that I have a bad sense of humor. So when my very close, amazing friends suggested this book to me I went to the library and got it. And I LIKED IT!!! (To tell the truth, I am quite surprised I enjoyed it…)

Anyways, these books are not your normal books. There is no ‘Happily Ever After’ there is no ‘Sweet’ parts, it is just plain “Unfortunate”. 🙂 The books are about three orphans who have to live with their insane/crazy relative, who is only after their money. (I know that sounds weird and boring but it’s actually pretty good)

Over all, I am very pleased there are books like this. Happy ending will never get old, but I am always open to new and surprising endings too. I highly suggest these books to kids, teens and family’s too! (But only if you are ready for a sad/unhappy series… Which I am!) -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Kid-friendly
  • Humorous in the bad/funny way

Cons

  • No happy ending

Are you made fainthearted by death? Does fire unnerve you? Is a villain something that might crop up in future nightmares of yours? Are you thrilled by nefarious plots? Is cold porridge upsetting to you? Vicious threats? Hooks? Uncomfortable clothing?

It is likely that your answers will reveal A Series of Unfortunate Events to be ill-suited for your personal use. A librarian, bookseller, or acquaintance should be able to suggest books more appropriate for your fragile temperament. But to the rarest of readers we say, “Proceed, but cautiously.”
