Review

So, I have read and re-read the ‘Keeper of the Lost Cities’ series about…6-to-9 times; and I LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!! I found this series like two or so years ago, and I fell heads over heels in love and bought all of the books!!!! And the best (and worst) part is, the series is still being written!!! There are only 7 books right now, and the 8th is being made!!!!! It will be released on Nov. 5, 2019!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am very excited, and now you know how obsessed I am with books…

Anyways, the ‘Keeper of the Lost Cities’ is about a girl, named Sophie, who is an elf; and she finds out there is this whole other world out there filled with EVERYTHING!!!! Though I wouldn’t say magic (but it does feel like magic) is in the world, it is more like ‘stretch-ed’ science… I think? The series is very clean and kid-friendly, but it can be violent. Now, when I say violent, I’m saying like kidnapping, and some torture; it is not too described, but it is described some. And there is… blood. (Oh my goodness!!!!! Blood!!!! What ever shall we doooooooo!!!!!!) Look, let’s face the facts, if the book involves adventure and is AWESOME, than there is going to be blood of some sorts. I can’t help it and neither can you, but we can read the cleaner violence… like this book! So, I really think you should try this series, though, it’s more of a girl book than a boy book… sorry. But the series is clean and VERY enjoyable; but it is a long series, for some.

The book pages range from 500-to-900ish pages! Now, that may seem like a lot to you, but I read 3 of these books in a day… I CAN’T HELP IT!!!! I am a VERY fast reader, “It’s a gift… and a curse…” It’s just how I roll, and maybe you don’t read that thick of books, that’s fine… your just missing out BIG TIME!!!

Over all, read this series, it will change your life! or ruin it 🙂 . The series may take some time to read, but it is most likely at your library! (It’s at mine? So, shouldn’t be at yours?) Anyways I hope you all have a wonderful day!!! Happy Reading!!! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Adventure, humor, AWESOMENESS!!!!
  • Very kid-friendly and a great book for younger ages!

Cons

  • Violent… VERY violent…
  • Uhhhhhh… the books are like 500-800 pages long…

Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…

But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well…she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.

But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.
