Review

This book is hilarious!!!! I laughed so hard multiple times and I loved The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates soooo much I finished it in 3 hours!

This book is about Freddie Yates, a 12 year-old who’s trying to survive life without any real family. Sure his stepdad is great, but after his mother and grandma passing away, Freddie doesn’t have anyone he’s actually related too! But when he finds out about his real dad, Freddie and his 2 best friends take the trip of a life time to find out the true meaning of family!… He just wishes he packed more underwear…

This book is a masterpiece of humor, family and chaos! Every chapter was funny, weird and great for boys 8 and up! Seriously, this may be the best book to get the young boy you know who won’t read. It’s awesome! There is bathroom talk in it. Lots of potty humor, losing clothes, only being in underwear, mention of peeing pants, ruining ancient bathrooms and having to wear a Supergirl costume in desperation…. I love this book.

Overall, this is a Golden Llama Book! I totally suggest it and can’t wait to re-read it. Happy Readings! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A VERY funny book for boys!
  • Hilarious story!
  • Great for kids 8 and up!!!

Cons

  • Some bathroom talk

Version 1.0.0

When people ask me if I would do anything differently in my journey if I were to do it all again, I tell them I would take more underpants.

Facts are everything to Freddie Yates―once you know one, it’s yours to keep. After his grandmother dies, Freddie has to face the facts: his family has now dwindled to just him and his accident-prone stepdad. When Freddie discovers his biological father might be alive and well in Wales, he decides it’s time to get back a family member. Together with his best friends Ben and Charlie, he sneaks off on the adventure of a lifetime (or at least, the summer vacation) to track him down.

Freddie doesn’t expect miracles―they’re not real, after all. But as their road trip gets out of hand and the three boys unwittingly set off a chain of hilarious and unlikely events involving an onion-eating competition, stolen superhero costumes, an angry jewel thief, and some very backed-up plumbing, Freddie discovers that some things can’t be explained―and that sometimes what you’re looking for has been with you the whole time.

Propulsive and laugh-out-loud funny, The Super Miraculous Journey of Freddie Yates is a heartwarming story about the true meaning of family.
