Review
This book was sent to me by the author for my honest review, and honestly?… IT WAS AMAZING! I laughed, cried and smiled. If you are looking for an inspiring read, this is the book for you!
This book is about Twyla, a young girl entering high school with a lot on her plate! Balancing sports, tests and friends is a lot! But it doesn’t help that her family is still struggling with her moms death. Then when all seems right in the world, Twyla starts getting nauseous… all the time. And then the headaches start. Now her life is filled with doctor appointments that feel wrong and a dad who won’t listen to her. Twyla feels like her life is breaking apart before her eyes!… But maybe what is broken is stronger than it seems…
This book is a roller-coaster of emotions! How a book can both inspire you and rip your heart out I don’t know; but this book did that. Every chapter was beautifully written with emotion, despair and hope. There is cussing in the book, but it is a very clean read. I totally suggest this book to girls 12 and up.
There is hard topics in the book. Mention of health crisis’s, medical tests, blood and such. Mention of vomiting and nausea. The author does a wonderful job of going through a health issue. As someone who has had multiple weird health issues without knowing what was happening, this book felt very real to me. I have never read a book that was so accurate to the struggle of being sick and not knowing why.
Overall, 10 out of 10! This is a book that I think teens need to read! It’s real and beautiful and one I definitely suggest!!!!!! Thank you so much Shannon Stocker for writing such an inspiring novel! -The Young Llama Reader.

Twyla enters high school sure of three things: Her best friends will always be there for her, the next four years will be amazing, and her mom was right when she said there’s a reason behind everything. Then, during a field hockey game, she gets extremely nauseous and struggles with concentration. What should have been a great year starts spiraling. Despite a diagnosis of mild digestive issue, Twyla doesn’t feel right. She’s exhausted, sick more often than not, and struggling to keep up at school — but every doctor says she’s “fine.” As her world starts to unravel, Twyla realizes that the hardest part isn’t being sick… it’s being ignored.
Between mounting medical appointments, shifting friendships, her varsity hockey career in shambles, and family tensions she doesn’t fully understand, Twyla must learn how to speak up — even when it feels uncomfortable, scary, or impossible. As questions about her health collide with long-buried family secrets, Twyla begins to discover that finding her voice may be the key to holding herself together.
