Review
I just love this book! It’s sweet, funny and a Christian romantic comedy that I just adore! (It is also book 2 in the Beignets for Two series. But they can be stand-a-lone novels!)
This book is about Kate Landry, a women with a carefully planned life just trying to raise her adopted niece. But her plans all start falling apart when the location that her sister once dreamed of becomes available before Kate has the time and money to expand her cafe. On top of that her niece Hayley is committed to warfare to get a dog. And on top of that, Kate’s first crush is back in town and doesn’t seem to realize she isn’t interested… (When she is very much interested!) It seems like her carefully planned life is falling to pieces like a soggy beignet…
Can I just say this book was adorable!!!! I loved it soooo much I desperately want book 1 because Julia Monroe Begins Again looks equally as cute! The romance was too sweet and I just loved the humor. The book is totally clean and Christian-friendly which is awesome! It would be a great book for ladies 15 and up.
Now the only thing is that the novel isn’t a kids book. It’s not inappropriate, just written for a older crowd. It has more mature content, however nothing that is adult only. 15 and up only, just because it’s written that way.
Overall, I am obsessed and I can’t wait for book 1!!!!! I very much suggest this sweet, romantic comedy about trusting God and following His plan when yours fall apart. 10 out of 10, totally suggest!!! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A very sweet rom-com!!!
- Christian-friendly!
- A great novel for ladies 15 and up!!!
Cons
- NOT a kids book.
I turned to him, and he winked at me. Winked! We needed clear lines in place between us. We would not be flirty friends. We’d be friends, period. The sooner I made that distinction, the better.
Forty-year-old Kate Landry’s carefully planned life has become as messy as the powdered sugar on her famous beignets. Juggling the responsibilities of running her café, raising her teenage niece, and the emotional baggage from her breakup, Kate finds her world once again turned upside down when her first-ever crush, Micah Guidry, returns to town as the hunky local librarian.
As Kate struggles to implement her plans to expand her café amid the New Orleans Mardi Gras madness and the meddling of her conniving ex-fiancé, Micah becomes the unwitting hero of her misadventures, stirring up feelings she thought she’d long buried. How can falling in love in the Big Easy be this hard?
