Review

You know those Hallmark movies where Big-City Girl falls in love with Small-Town Boy? Well this book is what happens after the sweet romance when life falls apart and not even love can save the day… It’s fantastic!

This book is about Lauren Wentworth, a girl from the big city who fell in love with Jonah Landry, a small town boy content with running his parents resort. But when Lauren falls and hits her head, the last 4 months of her life are gone. And those 4 months included Jonah and her falling in love, giving up her dream job, finding a dog and feeling joy for the 1st time in a long while. Now they have to start all over again; but Lauren doesn’t want the small town romance anymore. And Jonah isn’t certain how to change her mind…

This book was hilarious!!! I’m one of those people who makes fun of the Hallmark plot lines so this novel was a must have for me! The romance was super sweet, (both times it happened 🙂 ) the book had a cute story with lots of fun characters and the overall theme was great! 10 out of 10, totally suggest!

There is some kissing in the book. Mention of passion and desire, but not in a gross/inappropriate way. Just your normal kissing here and there. I would say this book is 15 and up, just because it is written for teens not kids. Young ladies who love a good Hallmark movie would love this novel!!!

Overall, though a simple book and story, this author really nailed this novel! It is a must read and one I can’t wait to re-read soon! Later my Llamaings! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • Such a sweet love story about 2nd chances!!!
  • Christian-friendly!!!!
  • A great novel for young ladies 15 and up!

Cons

  • Not a kids book.

She can’t remember. He can’t forget. How did Lauren’s number one nemesis, Jonah, become her adoring boyfriend? Can Jonah convince Lauren to remember why she wanted to stay? Love is complicated in this cozy and wholesome, small-town amnesia romance with a big-city girl and her resort co-worker.

When Lauren Wentworth wakes up in the hospital after falling from a ladder, she has more questions than answers. Way more. She knows where she is—the wilds of New Hampshire. But she’s apparently lost the last four months of her life. Is she really contemplating forfeiting her big-city dream job for a position at a rustic resort? And how did her number one nemesis become her adoring boyfriend?

Jonah Landry is crushed to learn Lauren has forgotten their entire summer together. Terrified of losing her for good, he determines to help her remember their deep connection as she finishes her obligation to the resort. But soon it becomes apparent Lauren doesn’t want to remember falling in love with him or rethinking the entire course of her career. She wants to pretend the summer never happened and move on with her life. Without him.

As Lauren falls back into the steady routines of resort work with Jonah, she’s relieved her memories haven’t returned and remains resolute about her big-city future. But as autumn leads into winter, she begins to see glimpses of the Jonah she’s forgotten. Will she be able to resist the steady love of this patient man? Or is her heart destined for its own freefall?
