Review

This book is soooo sweet! Talk about such a cute story! It has romance, mystery and humor all wrapped into a 400 page novel about love, hope and forgiveness!!!!! (However, this is NOT a kids book. There are adult topics that are for 18 and up only.)

This book is about 5 different people who were all invited to a secret meeting in an old bookstore. Lexa is trying to get over her divorce and get her boss to realize she should be the next CEO. Ed is an aging widower looking to write his love story while hiding a few secrets. Chuck is trying to find a way to see his kids after a terrible mistake. Coral is trying to move on after leaving her prince at the alter. And Jett is looking to finish his book about his favorite author, but unsuspected fraud might get in his way. But it seems the The Fifth Avenue Story Society has something else planned for them…

This book was soooo sweet, very interesting, totally engaging and perfect for young ladies 18 and up! It is a wonderful romance story from 5 points of view, with in-depth characters, funny plot lines, and a hidden focus on finding God. I just loved the book! It’s nice and long at 400 pages, but it still wasn’t enough for me! (I Need MORE!)

However, this book does talk about adult topics and is not suited for teens or kids under 18. There is talk of marriage, mention of ‘ex, not being properly clothed. Mention of passion and desire, but all of this is only brought up in passing. There is no descriptions, only mentioned or brought up. However, that does make it an 18 and up novel. There is also some mention of grief, loved ones dying, suicide, drugs and addictions.

Overall, what an sweet, slightly heart-breaking novel about loving through the pain this world can bring! I totally suggest this book to ladies 18 and up, looking for a fun, interesting, romantic novel!!!! May you all have a Blessed Day! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A very romantic, very sweet story!!!
  • Mysterious, funny and very interesting!

Cons

  • NOT  a kids book…
  • For 18 and up only!
  • Mention of adult topics.

When five New Yorkers receive an anonymous, mysterious invitation to the Fifth Avenue Story Society, they suspect they’re victims of a practical joke. No one knows who sent the invitations or why. No one has heard of the literary society. And no one is prepared to reveal their deepest secrets to a roomful of strangers.

Executive assistant Lexa is eager for a much-deserved promotion, but her boss is determined to keep her underemployed.

Literature professor Jett is dealing with a broken heart, as well as a nagging suspicion his literary idol, Gordon Phipps Roth, might be a fraud.

Uber driver Chuck just wants a second chance with his kids.

Aging widower Ed is eager to write the true story of his incredible marriage.

Coral, queen of the cosmetics industry, has broken her engagement and is on the verge of losing her great grandmother’s multimillion-dollar empire.

Yet curiosity and loneliness bring them back week after week to the old library. And it’s there they discover the stories of their hearts, and the kind of friendship and love that heals their souls.
