The Borderland : Israel in the Time of Jesus by Tim Chaffey and Travis Wilson

Bridge the Gap Between the Old and New Testaments

This very detailed and extremely fascinating book, based on the exhibit, unpacks the world that Jesus was born into, bridges the gap between the Old and New Testaments and provides helpful context for the people and events of Jesus’ lifetime.

Borderland: Israel in the Time of Jesus is a fascinating read on its own or a wonderful supplement to your New Testament reading. You could even use it as a homeschooling resource (like a textbook) to help students understand what happened from the end of the Old Testament to the start of the New Testament, setting the scene for the time of Christ.

Hola my Llamaings! Sorry that it’s been awhile since my last post, but I have been busy! One of the reasons I wasn’t reviewing was because I was at the Ark Encounter and Creation Museum in Kentucky and Ohio! (Totally suggest, fabulous experience!) And while I was there I found this amazing book!!!!!!

This is the Borderland art concept book about one of the exhibits and wow is it amazing! I’m talking detailed digital paintings, beautiful pictures of the exhibits and amazing facts about the time of Jesus. This book is amazing. I would totally suggest it to pastors and teachers looking for an interesting book filled with knowledge of Jewish, Greek and Roman culture!

I will say, this is NOT  a kids book. It goes into some detail about war, certain religious practices and isn’t something I would hand a children under 10. Nothing inappropriate, but mention of circumcision, slaves, ladies of the night and cleansing baths.

Overall, this book is too cool and totally worth it! If you are looking for a detailed art book filled with fun facts about Israel, this is the book for you! (You can get it online, or head down to the Creation Museum and find it yourself!!!) -The Young Llama Reader.
