Review
Ok, this book is a new favorite of mine. It’s clean, funny and gives you a new perspective on someone who might be a little bit different than you!!!! (I never have liked how we treat people who are different. And not just people with disabilities, (which, by the way, is kind-of a rude way to put it. Disabilities… we’re calling them this name and telling them they can’t do everything we do!… We got to fix that.) but also people of different race, religion and so much more… How are we gonna make this world a better place, if we can’t even look at people the RIGHT WAY!…With love…)
This book is about a girl who was born without her arms. She been standing out her whole life when she just wants to fit in. Then her family moves from a place she knew all her life to Arizona! And she has to figure out a whole new way to make new friends, not stick out and solve a mystery that is circling the theme park she just moved into.
The book is AMAZING!!! And I totally suggest it. It is completely clean and super interesting to read about. There is some teasing and people staring openly at her and her friends. (Which no one should EVER do!!! That’s rude!) But that’s it!
Over all, READ IT NOW!!!!! This book is sooooooo good and I can’t wait to read the 2nd one!!!!!!! I hope you all have a great day, and may God bless you and your family in these hard times! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- AN AMAZING BOOK!!!!
- Very kid-friendly!!!
- A MUST read!
Cons
- A few people saying rude things to her and her friends
Aven Green loves to tell people that she lost her arms in an alligator wrestling match, or a wildfire in Tanzania, but the truth is she was born without them. And when her parents take a job running Stagecoach Pass, a rundown western theme park in Arizona, Aven moves with them across the country knowing that she’ll have to answer the question over and over again.
Her new life takes an unexpected turn when she bonds with Connor, a classmate who also feels isolated because of his own disability, and they discover a room at Stagecoach Pass that holds bigger secrets than Aven ever could have imagined. It’s hard to solve a mystery, help a friend, and face your worst fears. But Aven’s about to discover she can do it all . . . even without arms.
