Review
Now, before I go any further, I DO like this book; but it does have a LOT of magic. I used to have this series but I got rid of it cause of the magic; well then I realized I had a different series by the same author, so I decided to re-read them.
I really like the book and I’m not against a little bit of magic, as long as it doesn’t get creepy. And with this book, there was just TOO MUCH creepy magic… There was fairy’s with no pupil, a witch with a really creepy egg face who tried to eat people, and her children had no eyes, a devil who was really a genie, and a fairy who shed her skin to turn into a dragon… Like I said, TOO much magic!
Over all, I enjoyed part of the book but not all of it. And I did put it under Kid-friendly but that’s for you and your parents to decide.
I hope this review was helpful!!!! Love y’all soooooooooo much!!!! – The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- Funny and enjoyable
- Kid-friendly… sort-of…
Cons
- A LOT OF MAGIC…maybe a little TOO much magic…
Life’s no fairy tale for Jack. After all, his father’s been missing ever since that incident with the beanstalk and the giant, and his grandfather keeps pushing him to get out and find a princess to rescue. Who’d want to rescue a snobby, entitled princess anyway? Especially one that falls out of the sky wearing a shirt that says “Punk Princess,” and still denies she’s royalty. In fact, May doesn’t even believe in magic. Yeah, what’s that about? May does need help though–a huntsman is chasing her, her grandmother has been kidnapped, and Jack thinks it’s all because of the Wicked Queen . . . mostly because May’s grandmother might just be the long-lost Snow White.
