Another Mary Mecham book full of romance, danger and lots of humor!
This book is about Alia, a young women stuck in a marriage to the dreaded Bluebeard. A man who’s every wife dies mysteriously. Alia wants nothing to do with him, but it was the only way to save her sisters life. However, there is more danger than she thought. So when she is stabbed, she makes a wish… One she didn’t think would come true, now she traded one monster in for another…
This book was fabulous! Filled with humor, magic and plenty of danger, this adventure keeps you reading till the end!!! The romance is super sweet. With a Aladdin twist, this fantasy is one young ladies 16 and up would adore. (It is also part of a series called the Displaced Fairytales, but it can be read alone)
There is violence and dark topics in the book. Mention of murder, curses, stabbings, some blood. People are trapped in objects while their life is drained away. The main character is married, but she gets it annulled before she falls in love again. The book is very clean.
Overall, I just loved this adventure! It was such a good read, (like all of Ms. Mecham’s books of course!) and one I totally suggest! Have a Blessed Day!!! -The Young Llama Reader.
