I love a twisted fairytale! Especially one that’s clean, romantic and filled with Wonder!
This book is about a sorceress who is after revenage. Ellie Strife has had her dancing curse broken on her ex’s 12 daughters. Now she has been banished to the Mad Lands with no magic, a place of no order, only chaos. There she meets Rylan Rhapsody, the King of Hearts, who is someone like her, with a dark heart. Then his heart gets stolen, Ellie agrees to help him get it back if he helps her get her magic back too! But the magic of Wonderland if slowly sneaking into Ellie’s black heart… and so is the king…
I LOVED this book!!!! It was soooo cute! I loved the magic of wonderland mixed into the 12 Dancing Princesses story. It was sooooo much fun to read! Th romance was soooooooo sweet, I loved how crazy the king was and how Wonderland really didn’t make sense. This book is a wonderful, clean, twisted fairytale perfect for young ladies 15 and up!
Now there is violence in the book. Mention of blood, death and such. Someone’s heart gets stolen. (Thankful, the hearts are crystals not organs, but they still come out of peoples chest by magic) Not really described. There is also magic in the book. The sorceress or witch is immortal and curses people. It is also mentioned of using dark magic to help someone without a heart. But it doesn’t seem to be voo-doo or anything.
Overall, I adored this book and have already re-read it! It is such a cool book and one I totally suggest! Happy Reading!!! -The Young Llama Reader.
