Review

I LOVED this book! It was funny, cute and totally adorable!!!!! I was not expecting to enjoy it that much, but I did! This is a book I totally suggest to girls 10 and up!

This story is about Emma Rockford, a young girl who knows the secret of magic and wishes. So before middle school starts, her friends and her make their wishes together to start the school year off right! But something happens, and even though her friends wishes get answered, Emma’s don’t. Then she realizes the new kid Jackson is getting her dream wishes!!!!!!! Now they have to work together to get Emma her wishes before it’s too late…

This was a simple book about magic, wishes and friendship! I loved the storyline, the characters were hilarious and the novel was perfection!!!! I totally suggest this book to girls 10 and up! It’s clean, funny and cute. 10 out of 10, totally suggest!

The only warning I have is that the girls in the book wishes to have curves and doesn’t get them. Instead the guy gets muscles and pecs and she’s mad about it. I found this part hilarious! It isn’t woke or anything, simply she wanted a fuller chest, and he got pecs instead.

Overall, this book is amazing!!!!! I loved it sooo much and totally suggest it!!!! This would be a great read for girls 10 and up who love magic, humor and crushes. Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A great book for girls 12 and up!
  • A fun magical adventure!!!!!

Cons

  • Mention of a girl wishing for curves.
Magic and mayhem collide in beloved #1 New York Times bestselling author Lynn Painter’s hilarious children’s book debut, perfect for fans of Sarah Mlynowski and Wendy Mass.

Emma Rockford knows it will take bonafide magic to make middle school everything she wants it to be. Luckily, before Emma’s beloved Nana died, she left detailed instructions on how to access an ancient, secret, magical wishing well. Emma follows each step and plans out every moment…except for the one where the obnoxious new kid, Jackson, tosses in wishes of his own that literally knock her wishes off course. When seventh grade starts, Emma discovers that her wishes are starting to come true, alright. But not for her…for Jackson.

Which, the two quickly discover, could have disastrous consequences for both of their families, and cost Emma her best friends. Can they set everything straight in time to prevent full-blown catastrophe?

With the trademark wit and heart that have earned her legions of fans, #1 New York Times bestselling author Lynn Painter delivers a laugh-out-loud story of friendship, family, and wishing—with a delightful dash of magic.
