Review

Am I reviewing a fall book in winter… Yes I am! And it is a cute read filled with books, cars and panic attacks! (Random, but enjoy!)

This is book 2 in the Checking Out Love series, it is about Hayley Holt the librarian who is now in-charge of Little Creek’s bookmobile. Which isn’t quite the honor the mayor makes it out to be. Especially when it breaks down in a small town, then a rock-slide happens and now Hayley is stuck staying with the grumpy mechanic Levi Redding. And everything she tries seems to make Levi even more grumpy. But maybe there’s more to Levi than meets the eye, and maybe Hayley is the one who is going find out his secrets…

This book was super sweet! Filled with fun book quotes, cute moments and a great focus on God. I really enjoyed this book, (the 1st book was still my favorite!) and I think it would be a great read for young ladies 18 and up!

However, I will say this book is quite kissy. The characters like to kiss and makeout quite a bit. It isn’t inappropriate, but I wished the characters would calm down a bit. That is why I have put the age range as 18 and up. Simply because it is written for older girls.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this book but not as much as An Overdue Match! I would suggest this book, just be warned of the makeout sessions. Happy Readings! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A great novel for ladies 18 and up!
  • Cute, romantic and Christian-friendly!!!

Cons

  • Lots of kissing and such. Not inappropriate just a lot…

Can a rundown bookmobile be the vehicle that brings two unlikely hearts together?

Little Creek’s bookmobile is more of a death trap on wheels than a vehicle of literary delights, and circulation librarian Hayley Holt is afraid it’s going to careen down a mountainside with her in it. Yet she sees it as a way to serve her community and be worthy of the liver transplant that saved her life as a child. However, her fears come true when the bookmobile breaks down and a rockslide traps her in the small hollow of Turkey Grove.

Reclusive mechanic Levi Redding lives in tiny Turkey Grove to get away from people. He can handle getting the bookmobile running again, but the endless chatter and unsettling touches from the vibrant librarian leave him overstimulated. When forced proximity leads to a misunderstanding, a note of apology begins an epistolary friendship, proving that sometimes the happiest of endings aren’t contained within the bindings of a book.
