Wes and Addie Had Their Chance by Bethany Turner Warning!

Bethany Turner is an author that I have loved for years. Books like Plot Twist, Hadley Beckett’s Next Dish, The Do-Over, The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck and Wooing Cadie McCaffrey are novels I totally suggest to girls 16 and up. Some talk about more adult topics than others, (The Secret Life of Sarah Hollenbeck and Wooing Cadie McCaffrey) but overall, they are fabulous reads.

So imagine my disappointment when I read Wes and Addie Had Their Chance and found a LGBT character in it. (SPOILERS!!!!) Wes is a political figure and needed a wife to look good. His wife wanted to change the world and hide that she was lesbian. So they struck a bargain, get married, tell no-one the truth, change the world. She dies, Wes finds his real love again and has to tell Addie, (his true love) the truth.

I would like to say this was a huge disappointment from Thomas Nelson Christian publishing house. I do not despise LGBT people. However, Christian fiction should be Christian. LGBT is not of God. The Bible is very clear about that, and I follow the Bible so I don’t support or agree with LGBT. The world can have LGBT is it wants, but don’t put it in kids, teens or Christian books. That’s ridiculous!!!!

So overall, this book is probably 2.3 Llamas. Romance… ok. Plot line… not bad. Worldliness… unfortunately… I don’t suggest this book and I am disappointed in the author… -The Young Llama Reader.
