Review
I am apparently on a rom-com book craze right now, and I am just loving all the cute novels I’m finding!!!! This book is sweet and funny, with a wonderful focus on 2nd chances, forgiveness and love!
Rae Sutton is a stressed out mother trying to pull her life back together. Her husband left her, her mother died, and now she is back in her childhood home trying to find her next step in life… And even though her daughter claims to be ok with her moving on, Rae isn’t certain how to move on after losing everything that mattered to her. But when new love begins to bloom, and old love comes back, Rae Sutton will have to rely on her mothers Third Thursday ladies to find a new path in life.
This book was a wonderful read! It was full of surprises and plot twists I wasn’t excepting, but totally made it even better! There is a dash of romance, mixed in with the love of friendship and the hope of new beginnings. And I love it all!!!!! This rom-com would be a great read for young ladies 15 and up who love a 2nd chance story.
Now there is mention of cheating in the book. Rae Sutton’s husband cheats on her and says he wants something new in life, and he is tired of her. Which is horrible and sad… Nothing inappropriate is mentioned, but the husbands fling is quite a bit younger than him. Also personally, I was a bit disappointed in the ending. It happened so fast with no sweet, romantic anything. I felt like it just needed a epilogue chapter to tie it up!
Overall, if you love a good book on 2nd chances, trusting God and finding new dreams, this would be a fantastic read for you!!!!! I hope you all have a Blessed Day! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A wonderful book on 2nd chances!
- Cute and romantic!!!
Cons
- Mention of cheating.
When Rae Sutton’s mama passes away and leaves her the house where she grew up, Rae can’t imagine how the little old place might restore her broken life.
Mourning the recent loss of her marriage, she takes the house and settles back into her tiny hometown with her fourteen-year-old daughter, Molly Margaret, and their overweight dog.
There she’s embraced by her mother’s close-knit circle of friends, the Third Thursday ladies. Though almost half their age and far less confident of positive outcomes, Rae joins their ministry-slash-book-club-slash-gossip circle and allows the women to speak wry honesty and witty humor into her tired heart.
As a new career and a new romance bring their own complications, Rae relies on the unlikely family she’s found and begins to wonder if her future holds more hope than she ever could have imagined.
