Review

This Medieval Christian novel is just plain amazing! The adventure was awesome, the romance very sweet, and the action is totally amazing!!! This is book 1 in a series and I most definitely reading the other 3 books!

This book is about Cyrene, a young women who became queen as a child. Cyrene has been ruling her people in the woods; hidden from their enemies with no guaranteed future for their way of life. But that all changes when she rescues a young soldier from death. Only to find out he is King Duncan, the son of the man who tired to kill her people. Now with a shaky alliance, both Cyrene and Duncan are fighting for their people, with little hope for the future. But there is hope for their love…

This book is just amazing! I adored the entire story. The characters are stunning, the adventure is soooo good and the entire novel is perfection!!!!!! If you love historical romance, written by a Christian! Then this book would be sooooooooooo perfect for you!

Now there is violence in the book. Mention of getting shot, stabbed and such. Mention of battle, taking out enemies and ending their lives. There is also talk about slavery and people being sold. As well as talk about wedding nights. Nothing is described, but there is mention throughout the book. So I would say this book is 16 and up only.

Overall, this Medieval Christian series is one of my new favorite collections!!!! I am soooo excited to read the rest of the series, (When I finally get my hands on it 😉 ) and I totally suggest it to you!!! Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • An AMAZING novel for girls 16 and up!
  • Christian-friendly!!!
  • Such a great start to the series!!!

Cons

  • Mention of violence, death, blood and such…
  • Not a kids book…

The Huntress is Book One in this medieval Christian fiction series.

Betrayed by their allies, the last of the Picts have escaped to the innermost part of an endless, dark forest, content to remain hidden there forever. Made queen at just a child, Cyrene has given all of her life and heart to the task of making sure her people are never terrorized again.

When a handsome stranger from the kingdom that betrayed them falls injured at the boundary of her village, she’s forced to choose between mercy and duty.

The second son of a ruling monarch, Duncan would never be considered for the throne, neither did he wish to be. But when a plague sweeps through the land, he is the only one of royal blood left standing. Returning to the tower that holds too many dark memories, the truth of his father’s tangled reign begins to unravel and Duncan is once again forced into a role he never wanted.
