Review

They did it. My favorite book series finally did it. They went Woke and put the “agenda” in book 9.5. I am so disappointed in Shannon Messenger. She wrote 10 books in this series, all clean and amazing! And then decided to throw all the amazingness away by following the world’s agenda…

This book is about the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, but from a different point of view… Taking place during book 9 Stellarlune, this is Keefe’s story. Where he went, what he saw and all the crazy secrets he discovered! With plot twists and mysteries, it is a a wonderful insight to what happened while Keefe was in the Forbidden Cities…

Here’s the thing. I love this series and I will always read it and smile. And this book was a wonderful read. It had plenty of adventure and action, lots of funny parts and tons of shocking twists! It is a great addition to the series and the reveals were amazing! (Gasped out loud twice!) It is a good book for pre-teen girls, (8-12) but it does have some violence and dark topics. Mention of people getting hurt, murdered, and some magic. (The magic is VERY clean. It’s more scientific than anything else.) Overall, this book actually had less violence than the others.

However, this book will always be the downfall of this amazing series… Unfortunately, the author decided it would be a great idea to bring in LGBT nonsense into the series because Keefe is around humans. So annoying. Why write 10 completely clean books and then just ruin it?!?! (And I would like to mention, I don’t despise people who are LGBT. However, it is wrong and I do not support it. God tells us in His Holy Word that it is wrong, and I listen to God and the Bible.) In the book on page 140 there is a man who mentions a husband. And on pages 161 and 165 there is a women who mentions a wife and the elf who has never ever been around something like that thinks it’s “cool”. (Which is not the 1st response of someone who has never seen that by the way. The 1st response would be, “What on Earth are you talking about?!?!”) My solution is to simple use a white gel pen and cross out those comments. Then you can “edit” the book and fix it to make it cleaner for you and your kids. (It’s not that hard, I’ve done it quite a few times now.)

Overall, this book I enjoyed for awhile, however the author severely disappointed me. I will be reading the rest of the series, but I am expecting more woke junk in the future and will have to “edit” more. This is an enjoyable series, but remember Shannon Messenger has now allowed herself to go from an amazing author to an average author… Way to go lady. -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A pretty good book.
  • Interesting and fun.
  • A great adventure.

Cons

  • LGBT nonsense…
  • Some violence and dark topics.

The past and present unravel into staggering truths in this can’t-miss installment of the New York Times and USA TODAY bestselling Keeper of the Lost Cities series told entirely from Keefe’s point of view.

Please be careful. Please be happy. And PLEASE forget all about me. It’ll be better for everyone that way.

Those were the last words Keefe Sencen wrote to Sophie Foster before he ran away to the Forbidden Cities. He didn’t want to leave, but it was the only way to keep his friends safe while he figured out how to control his scary new powers and searched for answers about his past.

What he found was so much more than adventures in Humanland.

Where did he go? What did he do? And who did he meet while the rest of his friends worked to solve the mystery of Stellarlune? The answers go far beyond anything anyone could have ever imagined and give Keefe the power to change his destiny.
