Review

This story is AMAZING!!!!!!!! I cried, laughed, and just felt inspired to give my life fully to God and save everybody!!!!!! This entire book is filled with the love and support God gave to this amazing missionary couple!

This book is a real life story about the Hanscom’s, who served as missionary’s in multiple country’s for the UPCI church. (My church organization!) And they saw wondrous healings, blessings, and miracles throughout their entire ministry. This book really shows the beautiful work of God through the Hanscom’s.

What to say about this book?… Besides amazing!?!?!?! I have never read a book where I connected to the missionaries like I have this book! I got to meet this couple at a church function this year. And Sis. Hanscom and I just hit it off right a way and started blabbering about who-knows-what! (In fact we missed the beginning of the service because we couldn’t stop talking!) And I loved Bro. and Sis. Hanscom from the start! They were happy, funny, and filled with such love for God it really just brought a smile to my face to see what He has done through their lives. And when I saw that they had a book, I knew I had to get it! (Actually, a really nice lady just went up and bought it for me while I was standing there thinking about it. Thank You Sis. Kelly Griffins!) And I am soooo glad I did!

This book is an biography, which means it’s not a fictional story with a cheesy plot line. It’s a roller-coaster of a series of events in someones life! And in this case, it is a roller-coaster I will get on and read over and over again! The Hanscom’s lives are astonishing! They saw everything! From miracle to miracle. From blind eyes being opened, to the lame walking, to the demons fleeing, to their baby boy falling off of a 20 foot roof and surviving, to the actually sound of the Holy Ghost from the book of Acts!!!!!!!!!!! This book is filled with such grace, love and victory straight from God, that I cried, laughed, gasped, and told everybody about all the crazy stuff in this book! (And boy do I mean everybody… From my parents, to my sister, to my cousins who are 3 states away! I am getting this book out there people!)

Now, this is a missionary book. And missionaries see a ton of stuff that we don’t have here in sad little America. There is some violence, blood, dirt, animals, guns, and demons. But when isn’t this stuff is a good missionary book?

Over all, this is a must read for any Christian family! Read it as a family, or read it by yourself! Cry as a family or cry by yourself. But this is one book I beg you to buy!!!!!! It is sooooo worth it and I am still going to spread the word to promote this book! Happy Readings! -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • AWESOME!
  • Christian-friendly!!!!!!
  • An amazing book to read, enjoy and love!!!!
  • A great book to read with your family!

Cons

  • This is a missionary’s story so there is stuff that we don’t deal with in the US…

Miracle was the obvious title for this book. The miraculous had already been an astounding prelude to the amazing personal miracle Don and Saundra Hanscom experienced at the beginning of their life and ministry in Pakistan. Their wondrous personal miracle is told in the opening chapters of this book, but the miraculous dimension of their ministry would continue in the years that followed. That a major, Apostolic revival of Book of Acts proportions could take place inside a nation nearly 98 percent Muslim has itself been an ongoing miracle. This story is a confirmation of a pattern intended for the 21st century church: “And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen” (Mark 16:20)
