Review

I can not tell you how much I enjoyed this book. I have found most of Gordon Korman’s books have ‘adult’ related stuff in them, (Not all his books are like that, just about the other three I have read and will NOT be reviewing.) but this book was very clean.

The book is about a kid who refuses to write a good book report on ‘Old Shep, My Pal’, and instead of getting detention, he gets roped into the play on ‘Old Shep, My Pal’. I absolutely LOVED IT!!! This book is genius, and very funny. The only problem I found, was that there was one curse word that showed up; but only ONE, sooooooo ya know.

Over all, I love this book, and I totally suggest this book to you all!!! Please, please, PLEASE read it, cause this book is amazing!

Pros

  • One of the best books I have ever read!
  • Very kid-friendly and funny!

Cons

  • One minor ‘curse’ word
Nobody understands Wallace Wallace. This reluctant school football hero has been suspended from the team for writing an unfavorable book report on Old Shep, My Pal. But Wallace won’t tell a lie-he hated every minute of the book! Why does the dog in every classic novel have to croak at the end?
After Wallace refuses to do a rewrite, his English teacher, who happens to be directing the school play of Old Shep, My Pal, forces him to go to the rehearsals as punishment. Although Wallace doesn’t change his mind, he does end up changing the play . . . into a rock-and-roll rendition, complete with Rollerblades and a moped!
