Review
This is book 2 in the The King and Prophet Chronicles. Filled with adventure, romance, action; all in a Narnia-like world!
This book is set after the adventure of Prophetess of Arden. Beckah has embraced her role as Arden’s prophetess, but the kingdom doesn’t approve of a outsider. Especially since most don’t believe her story of coming from Earth to this magical land. Prince Seth Hal-Titus is struggling to win back his fallen kingdom, while keeping his love for Beckah a secret. But when the elders decide it’s time for him to Choose a bride, dark secrets start coming forward along with danger… Danger to Beckah… On the brink of war, Seth isn’t certain where Adonai is leading him. He just hopes he can take Beckah with him…
This book is a interesting adventure, filled with hints of magic and lots of danger. It has sweet romantic moments and humor as well! However, I didn’t enjoy it as much as the 1st book. (The Prophetess of Arden was perfection, and it is hard to beat perfection) This book left me wanting more, and the cliffhanger ending was not my favorite. I still love the series, but book 1 is by far my favorite and I desperately need book 3!
There is violence in the book. Mention of people getting killed/slaughtered. Mention of blood, cuts, wounds. People get cut, hit and such. It’s obviously for older teens, 15 and up. Book 2 had less of the monsters and magic of the world. It was more political, but there are mentions of shades and such.
Overall, I really love this series and do suggest it! Young ladies 15 and up, who love Narnia and adventure would very much enjoy this book. Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A Christian-friendly adventure!!!
- Great for young ladies 15 and up!
Cons
- Mention of violence, blood and death…
- Monsters and such mentioned

Two souls bonded. Two kingdoms in danger. One choice.
With Beckah at his side, Prince Seth Hal-Titus is making progress in reclaiming his stolen kingdom of North Arden for the first time in over a decade. However, just when he embraces his role as Hand of Adonai and his growing strength, a surprise announcement from the Council of Elders threatens to disrupt all that Seth has gained, including his relationship with Beckah. Every choice Seth now makes will determine his happiness and the future of his kingdom.
Beckah Conrad fully embraced her role as Arden’s prophetess but not her relationship with Seth. Fearing a marriage would only hinder his reign as king, Beckah walks a fine line between supporting a monarch and being in love with him. But when a pair of prophets arrive, demanding she join them and leave Seth, Beckah must finally decide what kind of prophetess she will be and what it means for her feelings for Seth. Meanwhile, the key to a growing threat in the North is locked in her memory, and she must unravel the mystery before it is too late.
Alliances will be forged. Choices will be made. And the future of North and South Arden will be decided.
