Review

Oh my goodness do I love this book!!! Michelle Griep writes such amazing historical novels! I absolutely love them and totally suggest them!!!! Young ladies 15 and up would love these mystery adventures set in the 1880’s!

This book is about Ami Dalton, a Egyptologist in Victorian England where women professors aren’t very popular. However, her alter ego the Shadow Broker is. Edmund Price is Oxford’s most eligible bachelor, but isn’t interested in love anymore. So when he is looking for a Egyptologist to value his newly acquired collection he isn’t certain Ami is the one for the job. But when rumors start up about a ancient Egypt curse that is striking against the Price home, Ami and Edmund will have to work together to find out what is really going on…

This book was amazing!!!! I just loved the story, the mystery was so well written and the romance was so sweet! I really enjoy Michelle Griep’s books; she writes such cute novels about love, trust and hope!!! These books are such great books for Christian young ladies 15 and up!!!

Now there is some violence in the book. Mention of guns, knifes, blood and such. There is some mention of muggings, gangs, thieves and such. The violence is quite clean and not described or detailed. Just mentioned in passing.

Overall, I just adore this novel!!!!!!!!! I totally suggest it, the story was soooo good, the romance is too cute and I just love it! I hope you all have a Hat-tastic Day! -The Young Llama Reader.

The shadows hold secrets darker than they ever imagined. . . .

In 1888 Victorian England, Ami Dalton navigates a clandestine dual life. By day, she strives to establish herself as a respected Egyptologist, overcoming the gender biases that permeate academia. But with a heart for saving black-market artifacts from falling into the wrong hands, she is most often disguised as her alter ego, the Shadow Broker.

After eight years in India, Oxford’s most eligible bachelor, Edmund Price, has come out of the shadows to run for Parliament and is in search of an Egyptologist to value a newly acquired collection. Expecting a renowned Oxford professor, Edmund instead finds himself entangled with Ami, the professor’s determined daughter. As they delve into the treasures, their connection deepens, but trouble emerges when a golden griffin–rumored to bear the curse of Amentuk–surfaces, and they’re left to wonder if the curse really is at play, or if something more nefarious is hiding among the shadows. . . .
