Review
So let me just say, I ADORE the Fairy-tale Inheritance Series! However, this book is not nearly as interesting. Being the only sequel in the series, it follows Cinderella’s Dress on a mild adventure to find the Glass Slippers.
This book is about Kate, the new Keeper of Cinderella’s Dresses and now she is on a mission to find the Glass Slippers! Believing that if she locates the magical shoes, maybe she can find her dad who went missing during the war; Kate sets out to Europe, hoping to make it to Poland before it’s too late. Only problem? The Stepsisters haven’t forgotten their greed and they will do anything to get the shoes and dresses…
The book sounds interesting right? Wrong! I got this in June and JUST finished it… It was just such a sllloooww read!!! The plot line was ok, the characters were interesting and the adventure was fine. But it wasn’t very engaging. I feel like the Cinderella books just weren’t as fun as the other novels.
There is some violence in this book as well. Mention of WW2, death, bodies, bombs, bullets and the aftermath of war are mentioned. Some violence is mentioned, so I would say this book is 13/14 and up. My biggest issue with the book was that Cinderella’s descendant was a brat! She treated everyone as her servant and was soooo selfish… I had a very hard time connecting to the book because why would anyone respect such a jerk?!?!
Overall, it’s a ok read, I think some young ladies would enjoy it. The magic is fun, the story is ok and the book is fine. I do suggest it, but the other books in this series are way better! I hope you all have a book-filled day!!! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- The sequel to Cinderella’s Dress!
- Interesting story.
Cons
- Slow read…
- Some violence and mention of war…
Now that Kate Allen knows about her family’s unique connection to a fairy tale, she sets her sights on finding the magical glass slippers. The Kolodenkos claim Cinderella’s shoes have been lost to the family, but Kate is convinced she knows where they are. Or at least, who might know where they are.
With her dad still missing, Kate could use a pair of shoes with the power to reunite loved ones. But to find the famous glass slippers, she’ll have to get around the tight-lipped Kolodenko family and travel to post WWII Poland.
As official keeper of the wardrobe for Cinderella’s heirlooms, she’s learning that balancing alliances between Cinderella’s heirs and the stepsister’s descendants may cost her more than she’s willing to give up.
Can she stop a family feud that has lasted for centuries?
