Review
This book is full of wonder, adventure and magic! With a touch of romance, this book is great for young ladies 14 and up!!!
This book is about Seren, the princess of a poisoned kingdom who has been isolated from the courts for years. When her father finally allows her out and about, it’s only to show her off to suitors to get married. But Seren has a secret… she has magic in her blood. No one knows her power, but Seren might have to use it to escape her caged life. The only problem? Her guard knows more than he should… And Sir Corin has secrets of his own to save the kingdom…
This book is a wonderful adventure! Filled with humor, action, romance and magic; every chapter is interesting and engaging!!!! I loved the characters, the world was very interesting and the plot-line was fun! The novel is Christian-friendly and clean for girls 14 and up.
There is violence in the book. Mention of blood, wounds, cuts. People get stabbed, poisoned and die. It isn’t gory, but it is there. The King also threatens to marry the princess off 7 different times to her 7 cousins if she won’t give him an heir. (Gross) There is magic in the book. The Star-blessed in the book are given magic from the Creator, but some people are call them Hedgewitch instead. It isn’t like voo-doo, more witch like the Pixar Brave movie. They have magic in their blood, but most just mix herbs. There are evil spirits in the book as well. They use evil magic to bind people to them and enslave their minds.
Overall, this is a great read and one I enjoyed quite a bit! Young ladies 14 and up who love Christian Fantasy’s would love this book! Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.

Three legendary origins of power. Two royal bloodlines. One deadly curse.
The kingdom of Stelauris is slowly dying. A season of poison infects the air, earth, and water with increasing deadliness each year, and a deep love of gold and power infects the failing mind of the king. His only daughter and first in line to the throne, Princess Seren, lives in tightly controlled isolation. When she is suddenly thrust into royal society, she struggles to hide the strain of untamed magic awakening in her blood.
Seren’s newly appointed personal guard, Sir Corin, resents the exile of his people. As heir to a long-banished line of succession and the last of the land’s legendary protectors, he holds no loyalty for the current royal family and their history of unhinged cruelty.
As death steals over the kingdom and the schemes at court grow deadlier, the princess and the guard are forced to face their fears, their troubled pasts, and the cost of personal freedom.
