Review
A wonderful book for boys and girls 8 and up, this is a book I have been eyeing for years and finally read. And it was sooooooo good!
This book is about Evan, a 4th grade boy who loves his family but is struggling with his sister right now. Jessie, the genius mathlete is moving up to the same grade as her brother. But he doesn’t seem to want her there. So when Evan starts a lemonade stand, Jessie decides to do her own. And a bunch of misunderstanding starts the Lemonade War of the summer!
This book was super good. Though a rather simple story, the novel is wonderfully written and filled with great lessons!!! I loved the book and think it would be a great read for kids 8 and up. There is bullying throughout the novel, but it isn’t extreme.
Overall, this simple story is one I think all kids would love!!!!! If you are looking for a great read about forgiveness and family, this is the book for you. Happy Reading! -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A very funny story about being kind!
- Cute and simple, but very good!!!
Cons
- Some bullying
For a full hour, he poured lemonade. The world is a thirsty place, he thought as he nearly emptied his fourth pitcher of the day. And I am the Lemonade King.
Evan Treski is people-smart. He’s good at talking with people, even grownups.
His younger sister Jessie, on the other hand, is math-smart—but not especially good at understanding people. She knows that feelings are her weakest subject.
With just five days left of summer vacation, Evan and Jessie launch an all-out war to see who can sell the most lemonade before school starts.
As the battleground heats up, there really is no telling who will win—and even more important, if their fight will ever end.
