Review

I’m not gonna lie, I have mixed feelings about this book. The end in the DreamKeepers Saga, book 5 takes you all over the dreamworld. Filled with danger, action, suspense and magic, this novel is great for fans of Narnia!

This book is about Lily after she sends the evil shrouds back to the dreamworld, she thought the hard part would be over. But to her surprise, the dreamworld is a frozen wasteland of sorrow and despair… Now it’s up to Lily and her friends to spread the hope of Pax and save the day! Because if they don’t the real and dream worlds will be destroyed forever…

This was an ok end to the series. The novel is full of adventure and magic; a lot like the first 4 books. There’s all sorts of interesting characters, fun places and the story continues very well. However, the last few battles of the book were… Weird I guess. Honestly the end of the whole series felt rushed and undecided. In fact, I’m still uncertain how it actually ended… Let’s just say it was confusing.

There is also mention of violence, death and such in the novel. People get hurt, shot, cut, frozen and more. It isn’t gory, but there is blood and such. There is also spiritual warfare in the novel. Demons/shrouds/nightmares that attack everyone and are helping the evil one to rise up and defeat the creator. Some of the shrouds are extra creepy, but it isn’t too much. So be warned.

Overall, I really like this series, but book 5 was kind-of a let down for me… Too confusing. If you love Narnia, this would be a good read for you, just know book 5 is kind-of lame. -The Young Llama Reader.

Pros

  • A good Christian series for kids 8 and up!
  • Full of adventure, action and magic!!!

Cons

  • Mention of spiritual warfare and such.
  • Death and violence…

Book 5 Concludes the Dream Keeper Saga, an Adventure for Middle-Grade Readers Steeped in Magic, Mystery, and Glimmers of Hope

After a worldwide quest to save the planet from Eymah and his nightmares, Lily is now racing to escape the dark caverns of the Realm. Joined by Keisha, Adam, and their magical friends, she fights Eymah’s monsters in an unrelenting battle of ice and fire. When she meets an elder centaur along the way, Lily learns about an ancient scroll that foretells the last keeper―one who prepares the way for the arrival of the prince. Could it really be her? In her final fight to defend the earth and the Realm, Lily relies on her faith in Pax’s promise: that he will return and make all things new.

The thrilling conclusion to the Dream Keeper Saga takes middle-grade readers on an adventure filled with talking dragons, monsters, wizards, and more. Mixing fantasy with Christian themes, this novel invites families to reflect on and discuss God’s story of redemption.
