Review
This book is a combination of 2 novellas that set up the The Galamere Chronicles. Set before the series, it helps explain the characters backgrounds and past before the novels!
This book is 2 stories, both about Tina Greene, a baker trying to live out her families dream, and Nathaniel Alder who has finally escaped from his parents and older brothers expectations. So when Nat almost runs over Tina and her family’s cake for the royal competition, it almost seems like fate! But life pulls them apart and though Nat is determined to make Tina smile, she isn’t certain his distracting presence is what she needs to fulfill her dreams.
This book was just plain adorable! I loved the way the 2 novellas lined up together perfectly! The plot line was super cute, the romance too sweet, and the story set me up perfectly for Tina and Nat’s book coming out this year!!! (Hopefully!!!!) The Galamere Chronicles are written so well and would be perfect for young ladies 14 and up! (Think like a fairytale Hallmark movie, except without the overly cheesy parts 😉 )
The only warning about the book (and series) is that there are some mention of cruel homes and such. Mention of not getting food, or unloving parents. No abuse, it’s more like neglect. There is also magic in the series. Curses and spells are mentioned; however it is all very clean and not dark or voo-doo at all.
Overall, I very much suggest this series! Not only are the books fantastic, but the covers are stunning!!!!!!!!!!!!! Truly a book worth of the Golden Llama Award. -The Young Llama Reader.
Pros
- A super cute, cozy fairytale!!!
- Clean, funny and romantic!
- A great read for young ladies 14 and up!!!
Cons
- Some mention of running sway from a cruel home.

Tales of Cake and Comfort is a cozy fantasy omnibus combining two previously published novellas with additional bonus chapters. It follows Thea Greene from a royal baking competition in the city to starting her own café in the Northlands. Along the way she finds romance, new friends, and a faithful companion in her orange cat, Ginger.
